Mirror Mirror on the wall...

Who's the fairest one of all?

Check out our latest videos to see what Mussia thinks of herself! For about a month straight every time we passed by a mirror, Mussia would stretch herself out to it and smile at herself. She would chat, wave and just amuse herself through the mirror! This girl has quite some self confidence! It got out of hand when i would bring her to my bed in middle of the night to give her a bottle and she would stop from screaming and reach towards the mirror! When i would take her outside, she would see her reflection in the mirror and would reach out to the cars to touch it! Im like girl you are so self centered! It did have some benefits: Any time she would be in middle of crying we would just show her the mirror and she would stop :) And when she would not want to be on her hands and knees for therapy we got her a huge mirror and she would amuse herself the whole time! Our PT and OT loved it! Cheap entertainment and she stayed in the position they wanted her to stay in the whole time :)

Eating

Ill admit. I know im not the best blogger. Ill commit to updating it once a week. I dont think i have enough to talk about to update more than that. You probably heard all of this on the phone anyway. But pictures and videos really show what were trying to say.
2 weeks ago we were by Chaya Raizls house for Shabbos. I took a nap shabbos day and was just waking up when Chaim told me to come upstairs he had to show me something. Groggily, i came up, though i was pretty sure he just wanted to hand Mussia to me and he would run downstairs to take a nap. But nope, i underestimated Chaim. This was something far far more important than sleep. Chaim sat down on the chair and pulled out a lollypop for his pocket. Mussia was sitting on his lap and she literally dove for it! She knew exactly what to do! Round red thing goes straight into mouth! If father tries to take it away, put it in beard and he wont try again! No really, it was the funniest thing in the world! She was licking it like the starving children in Haiti! She would not let anyone touch it or go near it. Her fist was so tight around that little white piece that noone dared go near!
We thought it was pretty funnny, and CR had a good laugh at it!
But i dont think you fully comprehend how ironic it is that she takes a lollypop when she wont take ice cream, chocolate, cheerios, bananas. You name it, we've tried. She will not put anything in her mouth!
Soo below, we have a two videos. One of her eating her beloved lollypop and the other of me attempting to feed her food :)

Enjoy!

Being Toilet Trained

Our Shaloch Manos

Random Updates

Purim was really nice. We decided to lay it low this year even though we got a couple invitations to leave CH. It ended up being really nice here. It was weird to think about last year- We literally got the call on Purim that Mussia would be able to come home the next day. I remember it so well. I got a voicemail from the hospital saying "So we have a few questions to ask you in order to start the process of the baby being discharged." I thought I heard wrong. I called up and said "Did you say discharged???" So Purim of last year was pretty much a mixture of excitement and worries of what the future would hold.

This Purim kinda held the same way :) But in a better way. Worried because we now have the a surgery date, but excited because after the damn body cast we will start to work on standing more and weight bearing more :)

Mussia was a little doll this purim. I put her in this sweaty bumblebee costume (thanks CR) and she did not complain once! She smiled and posed at every click of the camera! Unlike Ari who adamantly refused to even touch his soldier costume. We tried bribing him with everything but he was so stubborn. We got him to wear the vest for about 3 minutes since his friends came to deliver shaloch manos and he really wanted to eat it. But the minute he ate all the good food, off came the vest. Party Pooper.

Speaking of Pooper, Ari is being toilet trained so i bought him 15 pairs of underwear today at Babiesrus. Cars, Cars, Cars oh and Thomas the train. He didnt want to put it on right away. Only right before bed he wanted to try it on. NP i thought. Well, he wanted to try on every single one of those pairs. I think we tried on eight different ones and i hid the rest! It was like a fashion show. He put on the underwear. Walked to mirror. Turned around to see the back of the underpants. Came back to us and tried on the next pair. I think hes sleeping with a pair on top of his diaper since he wanted to sleep with it. I hope the excitement doesn't wear off!!

In some other random news, I took Mussia to the Dr. today since she was cranky and not really eating. She actually looked perfect (wow). When we came home we saw that a little white tooth was starting to appear on the bottom next to her others. Tooth # 5! :)

And and and.. to end- i got a phone call from a friend of mine who wants to come visit with her baby for 3 days... Ill keep you updated on that one but that would be lotsa fun!

Scooting!

Since Mussias surgery I have been pretty bad about giving her tummy time since i didnt want to stress her out. Yesterday i decided to get back in the habit of things and when i put her on her stomach she actually moved instead of turning right over! I wasnt sure if I was seeing things or if it really happened.

Today, when i put her back on her stomach i ran to get the camera. Here are her results. Naturally, i was thrilled as you can tell by my high pitched voice. So please excuse the sound. We're really excited about this and hope that from here she will start crawling! When Chaim came home, I made Mussia show off for him, and we put her on the floor instead of the carpet- she got around a lot faster since the floor is pretty slippery.

Enjoy the video :)
